Please join us in celebrating as we roll out the refreshed version of the NFPA Remembering When™ program - now available online for free download. Remembering When is a fire and fall prevention program for older adults. 16 prevention behaviors, eight fire prevention and eight fall prevention, serve as the core of the program which was designed to help older adults live safely at home for as long as possible.
The new version of Remembering
When features clear messaging, updated trivia, a modern look, and is
designed to appeal to active seniors. Remembering When facilitators will also
find current statistics and many supplemental components to assist community
teams in delivering the program such as message cards, power point
presentations, and safety tip sheets.
NFPA developed the original Remembering When program in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1999. Since that time, teams from hundreds of communities have been trained to facilitate the program for older adults in group settings and home visits. The updated program will allow members of the fire service and home health agencies to continue this important work with appealing, up-to-date materials.
